Etherna a bridge to Swarm || Sergio Marchese
SwarmJun 20, 2024
The development of the Etherna video platform led us to create some interesting open-source tools that are useful to many other people: A gateway for easy upload and download of data on the Swarm network, integrated with a load balancer The video provides an in-depth look at the tools and services developed during the creation of a video platform called Eterna, which embraces the principles of web three, including decentralization, fair data management, and customization. The platform is notable for its innovative economic model that does not rely on token economics or advertisements, instead using a community consensus algorithm to determine fair content creator revenue. Key tools highlighted include: 1. Video Importer: Automates bulk uploading of videos to decentralized storage and enables importing from local storage or platforms like YouTube. 2. Gateway: Manages access to swarm network content and transactions without users needing to handle blockchain currency (BCC), accepting fiat and other tokens instead. 3. Beehive Manager: Simplifies the management of multiple nodes by making them appear as a single node. 4. Bee.net: Facilitates .NET application development for interacting with Bee, including data management and feed management tools. 5. Epoch Feed: Utilizes Swarm’s single owner chunks for versioning revisions of mutable data resources. 6. MDB: Aims to publish MongoDB databases on Swarm for various uses such as data analysis and integrity verification. 7. Eterna CMS: Enables compiling a static website version, publishing it on Swarm, and managing it via Epoch Feeds.
