Hedera x Claude Code AI Skills for Hackathon Builders I Logan Nguyen

ETHGlobalAug 9, 2026

In this workshop at ETHGlobal New York 2026, Logan Nguyen, an engineer at Hashgraph, shows hackathon builders how to move faster on Hedera using its open source collection of AI plugins and skills. He opens with a recap of Hedera for the mixed audience: it is a fully EVM-compatible L1, so anything built on Ethereum (MetaMask, Solidity smart contracts, Foundry, ethers.js) migrates and works out of the box, plus native protocol services like the Hedera Token Service (ERC-20 and ERC-721 style tokens with built-in KYC, freeze, pause, and royalty fees, no separate Solidity contract needed), the Hedera Consensus Service for messaging and topic subscription, a schedule service for on-chain automation, smart contract service, and more. He notes Hedera processes over 10,000 transactions per second with roughly 3-second finality, low fixed and predictable fees (a fraction of a cent), and a carbon-negative network. Logan then introduces Hedera Skills, the open source collection of plugins and skills built by Hedera's DevRel team, covering six capabilities: the hackathon helper, an agent kit plugin (for building AI agents that interact with the network via natural language using the Hedera Agent Toolkit), dev intelligence for scaffolding and session tracking, native services JavaScript (interacting with native services via the SDK without Solidity), system contracts (the Solidity counterpart for the same services), and the recently added Hedera CLI reference. He goes deep on the hackathon helper's two skills: hackathon PRD, run before writing any code, which teaches Claude, Cursor, or Codex to read Hedera's criteria, ask questions, narrow scope to a demoable MVP, and produce a buildable product requirements document, and validate submission, run before submitting, which does a mock judging pass against Hedera's seven criteria to catch bugs. He live-demos installing the hackathon helper in Claude with three commands and generating a PRD, then introduces the Hedera docs MCP server, which solves AI knowledge cutoff by giving agents a search tool over always-up-to-date documentation, SDK references, and code examples via one command to a remote hosted server. He closes with the four bounty tracks (AI agent, agentic payments, tokenization with no Solidity, and autonomous on-chain automation) and $15,000 in prizes. 00:00 Introduction 00:11 Meet Logan and the Goal of the Workshop 00:32 The Idea: Open Source Plugins and Skills 01:04 A Quick Recap on What Hedera Is 01:30 Why Your EVM Stack Works Out of the Box 01:44 Native Services: The Hedera Token Service 02:27 The Consensus, Schedule, and Smart Contract Services 02:59 Throughput, Finality, and Low Fees 03:35 Why Hedera Is a Carbon-Negative Network 04:24 36 Hours and $15,000 in Prizes 04:51 Introducing Hedera Skills 05:37 The Six Capabilities in the Repo 06:02 The Agent Kit and Dev Intelligence Plugins 06:36 Native Services JavaScript vs System Contracts 07:12 The Recently Added Hedera CLI 07:44 Going Deeper: The Hackathon PRD Skill 08:21 How the PRD Skill Narrows Your Scope 09:00 The Validate Submission Skill 09:36 A Mock Judging Pass Before You Submit 09:52 Live Demo: Installing the Hackathon Helper 10:53 Generating a PRD From an Idea 11:21 How the Skill Asks Questions to Brainstorm 12:47 Claude Generates the PRD 13:13 Introducing the Hedera Docs MCP Server 13:39 Solving the AI Knowledge Cutoff Problem 14:28 One Command to Add the Server 14:58 Using the Server With Natural Language 15:42 Recapping the Two Tools 16:03 The Four Bounty Tracks and Prizes 16:31 Closing _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ *ETHGlobal New York 2026* This workshop is specifically for ETHGlobal New York 2026, a 3-day hackathon held June 12-14 at the Metropolitan Pavilion, bringing together the most skilled web3 developers, designers and product builders from all around the globe for a weekend-long adventure to advance the Ethereum ecosystem! Hedera x Claude Code: AI Skills for Hackathon Builders | Luke Forrest

ETHGlobalAug 9, 2026

In this short workshop at ETHGlobal Lisbon 2026, Luke Forrest from Hedera walks hackathon builders through Claude Code and the skills that can help them move faster over the weekend, covering plugins, skills, and the Hedera MCP server that connects Claude to Hedera's docs for maximum context. He points to the Hedera skills repo on GitHub (via a QR code also shown at the booth), which contains five skills, and focuses on the main one, the hackathon helper, which has two key sub-skills. Hackathon PRD is a skill you talk to about your idea so it fleshes it out, recommends the best way to implement Hedera, and produces a full product requirement document you can then build from with Claude. Validate submission runs once your project is ready, inspecting your repo and judging it much as the Hedera team will (looking at your Hedera integration and whether it is strong enough to be judged accurately) against criteria like innovation, feasibility, execution, integration, validation success, and the Sunday pitch. Luke shows how easy installation is (adding the hedera-dev skills marketplace and reloading plugins), noting you do not even call the skill directly, just ask Claude to create a hackathon PRD for your idea and paste in the ETHGlobal track criteria so the PRD hits every point needed to succeed. He covers the Hedera Docs MCP, which connects Claude directly to the documentation to speed up building, and offers to help anyone get set up at the booth. He also introduces a recent addition, Scaffold HAR, a scaffold with templates built on best practices (launchable with npx create scaffold-har) that includes templates matching the bounties (x402, a payment handler, cross-chain DCA, and tokenized subscriptions). He closes with a recap of the bounties: AI and agentic payments (two teams, $3,000 each), tokenization on Hedera (two teams, $1,500 each), a no-Solidity smart-contract-free track (up to three winners, $1,000 each), and cross-chain automation using the Hedera schedule service and Axelar. 00:00 Introduction 00:11 Who Is Using Claude Code 00:32 What This Workshop Covers 00:43 The Hedera Skills Repo 00:58 The Five Skills and the Hackathon Helper 01:22 The Hackathon PRD Skill 01:53 The Validate Submission Skill 02:18 The Judging Criteria 02:35 How Easy Installation Is 02:51 Generating a PRD From Your Idea 03:12 The Hedera Docs MCP 03:39 Adding the MCP to Claude 04:00 Questions on Skills and MCP 04:08 Introducing Scaffold HAR 04:33 The Templates for the Bounties 04:57 Recapping the Bounties 05:26 Closing _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 🇵🇹 *ETHGlobal Lisbon 2026* This workshop is specifically for ETHGlobal Lisbon 2026, a 3-day hackathon held July 24-26 at the Carlos Lopes Pavillion, bringing together the most skilled web3 developers, designers and product builders from all around the globe for a weekend-long adventure to advance the Ethereum ecosystem! Luke Drago: The Intelligence Curse | Intelligence at the Frontier 2026

Funding the CommonsMay 9, 2026

Losing your job to AI is the obvious worry. Luke Drago argues the real problem is bigger. Luke, co-founder of Workshop Labs and co-author of The Intelligence Curse, borrows a concept from development economics: the resource curse, where oil-rich states stop investing in their citizens because their wealth comes from the ground, not from taxing labor. His argument is that full automation creates the same dynamic. When a handful of actors own the models, the compute, and the data, there's no economic reason left to invest in everyone else. The social contract quietly stops working. Luke makes the case that this outcome isn't inevitable, and that the window to build things differently is still open. Speaker: Luke Drago (Workshop Labs / Blue Dot Impact) This session was part of Intelligence at the Frontier, held March 14–15, 2026, at Frontier Tower in San Francisco. Jeff Burnstein & Devinder Sodhi: Physical AI | Intelligence at the Frontier 2026

Funding the CommonsMay 9, 2026

The US invented industrial robotics. Then it didn't invest in it. Japan took the lead. Then China. Now China is the largest user of robots in the world and pushing to become the largest supplier. Jeff Burnstein has watched all of this from the inside for over 40 years. Jeff, president of the Association for Advancing Automation, sits down with Devinder Sodhi of Frontier Tower for a conversation covering the full arc of physical AI — from why the word "robot" still scares American voters, to the case for a national robotics commission, to why Detroit's collapse was never really about the machines. Done right, he argues, automation creates more jobs than it eliminates. But only if governments invest in workforce training rather than waiting for the market to sort it out. Speakers: Jeff Burnstein (Association for Advancing Automation), Devinder Sodhi (Frontier Tower / Tess Ventures) This session was part of Intelligence at the Frontier, held March 14–15, 2026, at Frontier Tower in San Francisco. Scaling Smart Contract Security with AI I Shashank

ETHGlobalNov 9, 2025

Shashank, founder of SolidityScan, explains how AI and automation are transforming smart contract security. With over 14 years in cybersecurity (credited with finding bugs in Apple, Google, and Facebook), he highlights the staggering scale of Web3 hacks—over $5B in 2024, with 55% caused by contract vulnerabilities—and argues that manual audits alone can’t scale. He demonstrates how AI-powered automation reduces false positives and identifies nuanced access-control issues. Using the 2022 ShadowFi token hack as a case study, Shashank shows how traditional rule-based scanners struggle with logic-based bugs, while AI understands contextual security patterns. He details how SolidityScan’s multi-agent AI model, trained on 100K+ audit reports, mimics an “AI auditor” in developers’ CI/CD pipelines—reducing false positives by 82% and enabling real-time vulnerability detection before deployment. 00:02 Introduction & context: AI + blockchain security 00:27 Shashank’s background in cybersecurity (Apple, Google, Facebook) 00:59 Web3 security challenges: hacks & financial losses 01:28 Birth of SolidityScan: AI-powered contract analysis 02:00 Why automation is needed: billions lost, manual audits can’t scale 02:45 CI/CD security comparison to Web2 03:09 Rule-based scanning limitations → need for AI 03:27 Case study: ShadowFi token hack (Sept 2022) 04:10 Transaction analysis: token burn exploit explained 05:21 Access control vulnerabilities as #1 cause 05:44 How missing modifiers caused the exploit 06:08 Why rule-based systems fail to catch custom RBAC patterns 06:59 Example: false positives in static scanning 07:32 Using AI to understand code context & access logic 08:05 Results: 82% reduction in false positives 08:57 Multi-agent AI: master/slave setup & specialized agents 09:30 Dataset: 100K+ audit reports, 1M+ vulnerabilities 10:01 How the AI auditor works in developer pipelines 10:25 Audience Q&A: context limits, hallucinations, AI-guided algorithms 11:50 Future plans: formal verification & AI-generated fuzzing tests 12:10 Static analysis today, dynamic verification next 12:43 Closing remarks _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 🇮🇳 *Pragma New Delhi* Pragma New Delhi 2025 was held on September 25th at the JW Marriott Hotel in Aerocity New Delhi and was an in-person summit for builders and leaders in the web3 ecosystem. Make a Vincent App in 20 minutes I Chris Cassano

ETHGlobalNov 9, 2025

Chris Cassano from Lit Protocol walks through how to build and deploy a Vincent app in under 20 minutes. Vincent is an open-source delegation framework powered by Lit Protocol, enabling developers to create apps that can perform automated wallet actions under strict user-approved permissions. Chris explains how Vincent leverages threshold cryptography for decentralized key management—ensuring that no single party ever has access to user private keys or funds. In this tutorial, Chris builds a new app called “Warren Buffett”, a decentralized dollar-cost averaging (DCA) investment bot that automatically invests in undervalued crypto tokens using data from the DeFi Llama API. He starts by forking the Vincent starter repo, modifying the code to target random undervalued tokens (Pendle, Renzo, Beefy), and deploying the finished app on Railway with a one-click setup. Viewers learn how to configure RPC URLs, delegate private keys, and app IDs in Vincent, as well as assign specific abilities and policies that limit what the app can do—such as setting max daily spend limits. Chris also demonstrates the OAuth-style Connect with Vincent flow, how to approve permissions, and how users retain full control and can withdraw funds via WalletConnect even if the app disappears. The session concludes with examples of how Vincent can be used for delegated trading, automated AI strategies, or even wallet automation frameworks where AI agents manage assets safely under defined rules. 00:11 Introduction — What is Vincent? Signing on Behalf of Users Without Their Private Keys I Wyatt Barnes

ETHGlobalNov 9, 2025

Wyatt (Lit Protocol) presents Vincent, a non-custodial framework that lets apps sign on behalf of users without ever holding their private keys. It’s built on Lit’s decentralized key management network: user keys are Programmable Key Pairs (PKPs) sharded across Lit nodes and used via threshold signatures inside trusted execution environments (TEEs). Lit also provides threshold encryption and Lit Actions (JavaScript run inside TEEs) so you can combine programmable signing, secure decryption, and arbitrary Web2/Web3 logic. Users authenticate with something familiar (email, Google, Discord, passkeys, etc.); the auth is bound to their PKP, and signatures are produced by the network—not by the app. Vincent turns that capability into scoped delegation. Users grant a Vincent app specific Abilities (e.g., swap on Uniswap, deposit/withdraw on Morpho, bridge via deBridge) optionally constrained by user-defined Policies (daily spend caps, token allowlists, allocation limits). Delegation is recorded on-chain and can be revoked anytime; apps never see the private key. Each app/user pair gets an isolated agent wallet, so funds and permissions don’t bleed across apps. With this setup, anything that requires a signature can be safely automated—yield rotation, cross-chain rebalancing, scheduled tasks, agentic/A.I. workflows—triggered by on/off-chain events while the user is offline. 00:09 Intro, team, agenda 01:27 Lit Protocol overview: PKPs, TEEs, threshold crypto 03:30 Access control + encryption; Lit Actions (JS in TEEs) 05:44 Network stats & resources 06:33 What is Vincent? Creating Killer Apps Scheduled Txns on Flow I Felipe Cevallos

ETHGlobalNov 9, 2025

Felipe Cevallos from Flow Foundation presents two key upgrades in the Flow Forte network update—Scheduled Transactions and Flow Actions. Scheduled Transactions function like onchain cron jobs, allowing automated, recurring, or time-specific transactions without external servers or third-party tools. Felipe demonstrates this through a simple counter contract that auto-increments on a timer, showing how it can enable subscription payments, staking rewards, or portfolio rebalancing entirely onchain. These transactions are extremely cost-efficient, decentralized, and reliable, eliminating offchain dependency for scheduling tasks. He then introduces Flow Actions, a framework of five DeFi primitives—source, sink, swap, flasher, and price oracle—that allow complex DeFi operations within a single Cadence transaction. Felipe’s live demo automates a restaking flow, harvesting rewards, swapping assets, and restaking LP tokens in one atomic step. By combining Scheduled Transactions with Flow Actions, developers can create automated DeFi systems that continuously reinvest or rebalance portfolios with precise access control and optimized efficiency. The Forte upgrade also introduces native fixed math (bit128) for accurate financial calculations and improved DeFi reliability. 00:02 Intro – Flow Forte upgrade overview 00:29 What are Scheduled Transactions (onchain cron jobs) 02:24 Counter contract demo 03:14 Recurring txns & subscription use cases 04:36 Interval-based scheduling example 05:57 Use in DeFi automation & rebalancing 06:15 Intro to Flow Actions 06:52 Five DeFi primitives: source, sink, swap, flasher, price oracle 07:31 Restaking flow demo (increment + LP pools) 09:07 Cadence transaction phases (prepare, execute, post) 12:47 Run restake transaction – atomic DeFi workflow 14:52 Combining scheduled txns + flow actions for autocompounding 15:37 Fixed math bit128 & closing remarks _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 🇮🇳 *ETHGlobal New Delhi* This workshop is specifically for ETHGlobal New Delhi, a 3-day hackathon held September 19-21 at the India International Convention & Expo Centre, bringing together the most skilled web3 developers, designers and product builders from all around the globe for a weekend-long adventure to advance the Ethereum ecosystem!
