Pioneer SportFi with Chiliz - ETHGlobal London 2024

ETHGlobalWed, Oct 9, 2024, 12:00 AM

Join James Scicluna from Chiliz for a workshop titled, "Pioneer SportFi with Chiliz." Chiliz will introduce the types of projects that they would be most interested in seeing hackathon participants build on the chain, explaining some or their initial ideas surrounding what they think is cool in regards to utility platforms, SportFi platforms and tooling and everything in between. They will also walk participants live quickly through some good-to-know on-boarding information. This workshop took place at ETHGlobal London 2024, a 3-day hackathon held at the Truman Brewery in London from March 15 to 17, 2024. The event brought together the most skilled web3 developers, designers and product builders from all around the globe for a weekend-long adventure to advance the Ethereum ecosystem! ----------------- Follow us: https://x.com/ethglobal Check us out: https://ethglobal.com Email us at: hello@ethglobal.com

[Music] so hello guys uh welcome to the workshop so this is um it's going to be a Chile's Workshop uh we are talking about Chile's chain uh which is our layer one blockchain which we which we launched uh almost a year ago now maybe just over that um and who is Chile so who am I so I am James I'm the senior product owner for the blockchain team at Chile uh we also have uh in this room with us s who is our lead blockchain developer and Anna who is our director of operations you'll be hearing from her as well a bit later on and so what we're doing here so who is chilies chil's has been around for about 5 six years we uh started off um making Partnerships with clubs and with these Partnerships we made with clubs we created um a new form of asset which is a fan token so with a fan token is an erc20 token uh which essentially allows users to engage with the club right so we we created this this relationship with clubs where through these web three tokens uh clubs are able to allow their fans to engage with them and earn rewards be it tickets um or money con by experiences so what we did uh is we managed to get about 2 million users on our uh fan engagement app was it's called socios.com and we realized that we wanted to start opening up the ecosystem to allow others to also U create utility um for our fan tokens create their own fan tokens uh maybe look at at different uh different sports that maybe we aren't looking at entertainment um so we created this layer one blockchain called chili chain uh which is an iteration of our old private blockchain and but obviously this one is public it's an evm compatible chain it's a fork of buyer smart chain actually and uh essentially what we're doing here is we want to uh want you guys to kind kind of come build some ideas we are focused on mainly sports and entertainment but we're also looking for tools right so we want to make the developer experience uh easier and easier to build on our chain um so we're we we also look for for that kind of stuff uh and essentially um this is what we're uh we're looking for here so we I've created this this page it's a landing page for e Global London it should kind of condense a bit the docks so that you have everything you need to get started right here um we have also the a link to our Workshop um video that was uh that was published on on the YouTube channel and we also have our price categories so we what what we're looking for is two different uh specific categories one of them is fan token utility so we want uh to get real um real life use cases for our f tokens B besides the ones that we've already created uh and uh add more utility right so want to to utilize these fan tokens on on different platforms um which can be anything uh from uh token gating um Live Events what whatever whatever comes to mind um and we have uh first second and third priz for for that pool we also have a second category which is Sports F so we want uh to um create uh platforms related to sports and entertainment on the Chili's chain uh it doesn't have to be related to Fan tokens but um any new kind of uh idea that can create uh web three experiences with sports and entertainment uh on our blockchain uh we added some uh some examples of Dex Landing social fight pool betting lossless betting and um anything that comes to mind right so we we had uh some ideas like for example oracles for sports data so whatever is related to sports and entertainment um and you think will benefit the the network uh we we're we're ready to look at it we also have a pool price so what we're looking for in the pool price is just successful deployments on our chain so if you have a project that you're building that maybe is not that uh related to sports and entertainment you can uh you can deploy it on our chain and you will be part of the PO price as well uh we have some useful information so uh our test net is called spicy test net this is where we're we're looking for people to to deploy uh there's no need to deploy a main net you can just Deploy on the test net it's enough for us and uh we have uh some links for the block explorers um actually I'll update this because this is the block explorers for main net so I'll add the ones for test net as well uh our links to the docs uh minimum gas price um and um and some other uh information that might be used for your hacking some links for our test net so we have uh we have a faucet we have two faucets actually one of them is run by Us and other one is run by taton uh so you should be able to get chilies from there and if you if you need more just uh let us know and and we can provide we also have a faucet for fan tokens within the the same so the spicy faucet you you'll be able to get fan tokens from there as well and we have some links to available tools that are uh some tools that are available on the network um like Morales Statum third web World connect we have p as an oracle but it it only provides price data but we it also uh we also have um random number generation uh from P so it might come in in hand you for for some project that you'll be building so that's a quick rundown uh we are a layer one so an evm compatible chain it should be pretty straightforward uh there's not much uh technical stuff that you might uh if you're used to deploying on evm it should be the same experience for us but if you have any any questions that I can answer I'm happy to do it yep any specific RPC you would recommend like the spicy RPC is stable usually and yeah the spicy RPC would be the most stable one uh we had some issues recently with public node um so I would I would stick to spicy RPC for now but both should work technically any other questions uh excuse me yeah so how do we verify contracts is there a verifying API so uh maybe seral sorry so you can use the I think there's a hard hat with the with the chili scan no yeah uh I can find the verification API in the docs you can't find it in do which one is scan. cheese.com or uh sorry spicy Das Explorer or wait tet. chilis scan.

com scan. chilis.com so scan is for main net uh we have spicy explorer. ch.com for testet and uh there should be a guide in the in the I'll find it out if not you can just uh come to our booth or or ping us on telegram we have the we have a telegram group for hackers as well do you maybe have any examples from like previous heatons where team successfully integrated theonomy um SDK for chilies for canab Section so so far we haven't had so our last hackaton Pon was not yet available so we didn't uh we didn't have really much people using it but we've tried it out quite a bit ourselves and uh it should be it should be working um easily that's a good point actually if you want to use account abstraction we have bomy available on the Chain so uh if we don't have any other questions we can close off early you can come uh come ask me uh now or at the booth um but uh yeah good luck and uh we're excited to see what you guys come up with [Music]
