[Music] Okay.
Yeah. Thank you. Thank you for like still being here in in in last presentation as like I'm Udai. I'm co-ounder of Fractton Ventures or which is an incubator for Ethereum. there we'd like to create like more you know or through this incubation we'd like to create more privacy focus protocol from Japan or from Asia so I'd like to explain about like the passive present presentator and the speaker was like so many like tech oriented speakers so I'd like to speak about like a more culturally and the philosophy about like Ethereum culture and also like you know how why I love Ethereum and why we have have motivation to contribute to Ethereum and also record through this pastor of record history in Japan especially for open source culture opensource software we'd like to track everything is that why we need OSS why we need like a decentralized and unstoppable network
so yeah I already like explain about by myself I have been working this space since 2017 there I'm a wii hoarder and I love NFT So there I'm a super culture guy. So when I was a kids record I love like recent so many record emo and screamer and know meta music as well or maybe you know guys know the like you know or the getup kids like the the band is like super emo emo band they played a show in here tonight that it was like a 25 years like anniversary tour that I couldn't get like you know get because I'm in here. Yeah. But like you know I love I love this place. Yeah.
Yeah. Thank you for like you know inviting me here. So so when I was a kids so there yeah please imagine like you know what is your first motivation like you touch like a computer personal computer laptop in your life. So what was the reaction? What why you love like a computer?
Why why you love like a you know open source or computer or reax or something like this? So there when I was a kids so I'm I'm also like 34 years old right now. So like when I was kids like there's a lots of computer magazine or they are sitting on you know bookstores and I purchased a few books as well. So like the book says like oh there is a like or you know there the miracle will be happen really soon you know that you can download any content as a free oh okay this is magical you know yeah I need everything you know buy my free so so so it was honestly like my motivation another my motivation sorry like it's recorded but sorry to my family but like you know that it was a pal honestly you know
yeah it's true you know like
recording media Yeah, you know, you know it's it's been okay, you know, so everyone have a motivation to do it. Good motivation, you know, but you know like you know everyone like website say you know is blocking to like you know under 18 years old how the website is verifying like under 18 years old who are vising on the website. So I try to understand what website actually doing to the users as well. It was a motivation for me. Yeah.
Sorry question.
Yeah. So and also like I could touch with like P2P software very beginning a phase of the P2P software. How many knows about like you know wing MX or you know Winnie or any other like a P2P more file sharing software in 2021 22 23. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. Thanks so much. Yeah. I I use it like my parents computer and like you know town on their portal will be open and they're connecting to the P2P and any other devices you know like maybe like they they could scan like on my family's like computer and deeply but it's been okay you know it was a very fast tested timing for me you know what actually mean of a P2P what actually mean of connecting to the other computer directly through this internet
well Yeah.
So there one things I'd like to or explain or through this topic today is like a winnie which is a name of like P2P software which has or we has developed and delivered like in 200 maybe since 20 2020 2001 or 2002. So it was super O software which can enable to like provide like a P2P file share solution. It was created by one of the like a professor or who are working in like a Tokyo University right now or since then and there there's so many like our movie like our or Japan or you know our filmmaker created a movie already. So that if you are are interested in please watch the movie this is really interested record if you maybe like you will affect by like this our auto record or actual record actions. So this is a screenshot of the Winnie what actually happened for Winnie in 2021 then since 2022.
So it had started like from like a 20 220 or sorry 19 to20 and also recorder delivered from like a 2020 one or twos and also recorder it was a really very you know actually innovative software in the Japan market. So many like young language young generation as like as me as could use this software for turn on the setting. I learn everything for how I can use a winning I search on these things on Google. So this is the only one things like I have to use internet because you know I don't need too much like illegal contents or illegal like a document but also like you know more important things is that like you know what's happen if I turn on the like you know start to like start roing like running or like winning software on my laptop what's I see what what type of things will will we see so the one of this one widest things about is that like the developer like or is Kaneko or he was arrested by police after like this software we became a famous super famous in Japan. It was a social movement in Japan in 2022 or 2023.
So at the time like you know so many young people could install this application for just downloading like you know I'm offshell content from through this like pupia network and also like you know so many media covered oh like you know this software is like a bad things to do then that software provided solution to you know that everyone can easily to download like you know free movie free manga or any other so the recommenders started to you know attacking with like this developer directly. This is just developer. He created opensource software just de delivered but you know he was like one of the badest kind badest guy by media at the moment and uh and also like you know he has arrested by police. He started to battle with record like you know or you know or for how to get record like you know or no no illegal things like he could do in the moment. So is that be okay?
No.
There we go.
Okay.
Okay.
Sorry. It's a connection issue. Oh.
Oh. Just keep going. It's scared. You car it. You don't need a presentation.
Yeah. Yeah. I think so. Yeah. Yeah.
You please. You can please please search on like Winnie on Wiki or any other website like you can understand like what's happened for you know or iso himself and also like a Winnie or could affected by this or negatively you know social activity on on there. Yeah. Sorry it's super bad connection. Yeah.
But it's me. Okay. So yeah I'd like to show this presentation. Yeah. So, so after arrested like he has died in super earlier or because like he has took too much stories from this after arrested you know he spend so much money and time for just battling with like you know our government and and the police and why I could like arrested by police.
So he has passed or in in the life and uh I don't think so about like someone rumor says like you know sir he's a one of the potentially person or he or person could like have a motivation to create a bitcoin in the timing so I think like he's not a guy I think so personally but you know like I am you can easily to understand like he has a motivation he could have motivation at the time so like He maybe he hated like you know government he hated everything you know why I just deploy open source software in the public market but like why I could arrested by police and every media says you know he's a badest guy in Japan in social he provided lots of like you know unofficial contents illegal contents to you know overall generation of Japan so like so at the time like he was a completely enemy of the government enemy of the social in Japan. So we can run everything from this record history in Japan, right? So like you know everyone is creating like a open source protocol, opensource software. This is a very good job or and like we love this software and this we love this approach but also we have to think about like how we can protect like a you know actual freedom of the developer in the future you know as a always I am thinking about this point as an incubator you know the incubator is like incubator job is very simply you know if someone derive to create a open source protocol okay you should do it this is my job but Seriously, you know, if he realize the protocol and you know Hubi or you know any like Asian like searching on like what is his profile and where he living right now and something like this this is so scary to do it. So you know like how we can create like you know more freedom or how we can provide more freedom of the like freedom for developers in the market.
So yeah skip that right. So the my background is also like I worked I have worked with financial regulator. So the through this my experience I can say you know financial regulator especially in Japan they couldn't understand what's the actually meaning of opensource software even even in right now. So the we we I tried to explain so a lot of time to regulators but like you know they are just saying reg illegal or this is kind of illegal or you know or if you'd like to create this software in Japan market and provide to any other Japanese person or I can we can say yes oh okay but what is actual program so you know they're easily reg every regulator can easily to say it can done I can't expect I can I I can accept on it but you know the more realistically we have to think about like how we can create like you know the taking a more balance between privacy and keep being privacy and keep having a privacy and like just a bit of like understanding point we can provide to the regulators you know what I mean so that you know I'm I'm also I personally I'm a super you know privacy maxi guy but also like I am in Japanese society you know so I don't want I don't want to like arrest it by like poling tomorrow you know so like I have to I have to say you know so we are trying to trying to or realize like through this technology or how we can take a balance between these two points so sorry I couldn't or insert like you know the rail guns right on on this scene Sorry, recently I'm recently I'm super love cache but it's a kind of like similar things of like you know or or rail gun or any other like you know cache or any other solutions. So better cache also and any other solution also like they are using you know the chain analysis or any other like you know or chain monitoring services for dep or with withdrawing like request.
So if user request from the privacy pool record you know or users record wallet will be checking through this record you know or or blockchain monitoring services if record or monitoring service say or this is a highly risky address to do it like you cannot withdraw from the pool. So it means like is kind of like taking a balance between two things as well. I think this is a kind of realistic record use case like using a technology to provide record a private keep providing a privacy and also keep providing or more you know one of the records solving answer for our regulators as well. So and another concern for me is of there are how many know about offax sanction list as well. Oax offax record in so many sanctions like what address on their wrist.
So the or normally like or if you download like a node software for running a nodes or the node software is separated two types. One type is like or don't care about like overaxction the second one is like accepted by like over extension. So access by opac sanction nodes means like if some or transaction will be happen from the offax sanctions wallet address or and the node will not record or are combined to this transaction into the block and there so this is a kind of like a weird situation to do it. So E3M like itself it's completely for open for everyone. It's a completely for decentralized network but it's a kind of you know like so many nodes is running for of adapted nodes already.
So and if you run like a or don't care about like offac node in your home like maybe like a police will knock the door to you guys and like oh what's the know what's the software are you running on like you know like why you choose this type of software you know there's a two version you know legally adapted version or illegal version why you choose illegal version they can easily to say realistically you know so so like we need more solution to do you know running a node of are completely or you know are are rejected off like sanction risk like running a node for you know in hidden mode realistically and I so like recorded only I I can't say like of something but you know you know this is kind of like weird you know so like if add wallet list as like as your wallet list on sanction list tomorrow your wallet will completely frozen. You know what I mean? So this is critical. So that you know only few nodes running nodes can rec combine your transaction into the block. So this is really scary things to do.
So what I want to say through this presentation is that like you know how we can protect privacy through the technology realistically. So the mean okay like we are privacy maxi we are technology maxi everything like this. So we are I don't know like a regulation maxi or something I I I don't like this I don't like them. Yeah but you know Japan society is compul or super strictful in the market. So the every new challenger even the dune developer new founder everyone says like you know all it's may like illegal in Japan if I realize this protocol.
No no no no no no you have to do it first you know if your transaction if your your TBL increase over 1 million 2 million 10 million 20 millions maybe regular or regulator will communicate with you you know so the the biggest actual program is like a size of the like put or size of transaction actually you know realistically you know the like realization of the protocol is not a matter it doesn't matter to like actual program directly So the and also like we have to think of keep thinking about the how we can protect the privacy. So like TE GK the FAC so many like great solution we could see right now. So the and also like a regulator couldn't understand this technology actually mean you know so the if we can you if we can say and it's a it's a completely hidden like a things like a calculated by like t oh it's good everyone say it's good like these guys super geek guys but you know regulators can easily to say oh there is this illegal maybe it is still illegal you know if you use a technology you know so we have to take more time to explain about like you know why technologydriven approach is a better than just creating a rule I'd like to say this point as well that's the reason why we love Ethereum so Ethereum is free is for everyone we can do everything so even if like there's a sanction offer sanction affected list but you know that we can create more better Ethereum in the future so with technology so this is my presentation thank you so [Music]
