Can you hear me? Okay, all good. Let me just figure out the clicker. I'm sorry about the next picture. I didn't know it's going to be that big, but okay.

Yeah. Yeah, works. All right. Hello everybody. My name is Techro.

I am a delegate and a contributor at the Arbish DA. Arbitando is a proud sponsor of this great event. This is my second year attending ET Forso. I love the city. I love the team.

I love the vibe. So, yeah. Congrats on another great event already. But today I'm here to talk about mini apps and why are they and why I think they're the new playground and also why you should build on arbitrum. So I'm going to start my presentation with a little story.

Okay. So apologize about the big face but this is me four weeks ago I think. Uh I was traveling uh with my girlfriend and this year we decided to visit Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is maybe a little bit unconventional location or destination to go take vacation. But if you're an outgoing type and you like nature, if you like big mountains, you like the lakes, the trees, and even if you like the deserts, the steps, you know, it's a great great destination to go to.

But whenever I travel, I also like to because I'm a tech person, I like to explore a little bit about the tech in that country. So, I was fortunate enough to spend two days driving around the beautiful country with this guy. His name is Diaz. Uh, and he was our driver of this 4x4 car that we had to have to visit all of these beautiful spaces. Uh, but I was fortunate enough to sit at the front.

So, I think we talked every day for 8 10 hours when we were driving and we were just discussing about our lives, about the tech because Diaz is also a very techoriented person. He has his own YouTube channel where he's recording his uh traveling uh expeditions and so on. So we were exploring the tech of Kazakhstan right and the most of the time we were talking about this app. I don't know how many of you are aware but Kaspi app is one of the it's the super app of Kazakhstan. So what's the definition of super app?

It's an app where basically people can do a lot of different stuff within one app. I think yeah basic stuff that you see is QR codes. You can pay at a grocery store, you can pay at the gas station using this app. But not only this, you know, DAS told me that he could sell his car through this app. So all of the bureaucracy that you need to sell a car from one person to another person to change the ownership could be done through this app.

He could also buy insurance for that car. He could also buy e-commerce products and everything. So all within this app and yeah, here's one screenshot that I uh found. you know what this app actually does but basically you get the picture right and I want to start this presentation talking about super apps because this is not that common for us I think most of us who are probably here are probably Europeans uh we don't really understand the concept of super app as maybe they do in some other countries so when I did a little digging deeper about the super apps in general across the world here you can see some of the examples of these super apps around different countries maybe you know or you heard about WeChat but WeChat here is not the same as it is if you would go to China and if you would open your app there, you know, it's so many other features and so many other possibilities that you can do through this app. So when I did even more research about super apps in general, you know, I figure out maybe these are the five key points that they all have in common.

Usually you get onboarded to a super app because of the one feature. Maybe you want to pay for your bill easier and more smoother, so you download the app. But once you have the app, you it's so convenient to do a lot of different stuff through this app as well, right? You can then pay money to your mother, send her funds there, or you can pay for your insurance through that app and bunch of other stuff that I mentioned before. Also, the payment integration is already there because you have your money on there.

So, it's super easy, super convenient. And also because these super apps are usually built by IT very startupy you know kind of teams. They always look for new features that people would need and they develop those features for them. Something that maybe is not that you know uh common in web 3 already. Also from the term of marketing and how to keep the engagement of these apps.

You know the notifications are very very good to keep the engagement going right. So once people open the app, they do one thing, but then because they have an app already open, they can do a bunch of different stuff. So this leads me to my point, right? So imagine if all of this would be possible in crypto. In my opinion, it is possible through mini apps already.

So definition of mini apps, we cannot start talking about mini apps without mentioning telegram, right? Telegram in my opinion was the first project or that's let's say crypto project that introduced crypto and introduced mini apps options for developers to launch within the app. Like I said, you already have your app on the phone. It's so easy to also open open up a mini app in there, right? And also of course Telegram had to integrate a wallet, a crypto wallet within the telegram.

Another example is the world app. I heard that in Poland world app or world chain is quite popular. A lot of people scan their orb. uh did yeah scan their eye through an orph but mini app or world app also introduced miniapp's concept as uh opening their app to a lot of new devs who want to build something useful something that people would would love to do u another one example is Coinbase uh if you were listening to the panel before me uh it was mentioned already so Coinbase also is opening up to devs who want to build mini apps and give them a platform to gain you know and a and show their mini apps to bunch of the bunch of users. But today I would like to spend a little bit more time talking about Farcaster.

So basically for those of you who don't know Farcaster is a web3 Twitter let's say or web3 social Twitter. Uh basically looks very similar to maybe that you're used to from Facebook this is a browser version. So I wanted to show this version because it's so so much easier to see what it offers but basically you have it also as an app on your iPhone or on your Android. So basically you yeah it's a you add friends you can post stuff. I use it personally not about cryptoreated stuff but mostly about my life.

I like to cycle I like to run uh you know a bunch of this stuff. So I mostly post about this kind of things. But beside that forecaster is also now a very very good playground for mini apps. Uh and it all was possible because few months ago they integrated a wallet within the app. So if you create a Farcaster account, you will immediately when you create an account, you will get a wallet integrated on your name.

So once you, this is still a little bit of a of a barrier, but once you get your money on this wallet, it's super super nice and easy to use that money through mini apps. And here are a few examples how you can use now your money of your forecaster wallet within mini apps. Here are a few examples. So this is a mini apps landing page. Yeah, you can see here you can see DJ here.

DJ is also one of the sponsors of the conference. So you can talk with Yatic there. He has one of the most popular app as well when I took the screenshot. But basically here are a few examples of mini apps. So these are I don't want to be too confusing but these are screenshots of the phone right?

So three screenshots. So one of the very popular mini app is ponder. Ponder is a prediction market when where anyone can ask a question and people then bet on the answer. So, it's not like a it's not only about sporting betting or whatever price prediction betting. Here is a good example of a question, you know, what is the sexiest way to harvest energy?

And you have four different answers and you can bet, I don't know, a dollar or maybe $100 on what would be the outcome of this question, right? So, one example and all of this works very very smoothly because you already have a wallet. You just open the mini app. Okay. B, I'm going to pay u I'm going to bet on for example nuclear and then just confirm and it's easy done confirmed uh and the transaction happens.

Another good example of a mini app is remix. So because when I say mini apps a lot of people think okay this is only for crypto project but no if you're a dev building mini games or simple games mini apps are actually also a very very good platform to launch your own game uh through this through this platforms. Another example is noise. This one was quite the big su quite successful. Uh it launched I think three four months ago and it allow an unique approach towards incentivizing you know good u good incentivizing your user behavior on this on app like forecaster.

So what what it allows you to do is when you go on forecaster you usually like or comment or add friends or I don't know recast you know posts and with noise app you can easily automate a small transaction whenever you do this kind of things. So when I uh when I like one cast I can give whenever I like one cast I give them one USDC just because I like their content I like what they wrote about and it's a way of experimenting with different kind of business model for this kind of things right um so yeah noise app is one another great example the last example is nine lives so nine lives is also a prediction market but I wanted to show this example because nine lives is a is a is an app that was built on superp position chain and it was originally a web based app, right? But once they saw that maybe, you know, mini apps is a great channel for them to introduce their product to a bunch of other people, they decided to uh transform their app into a mini app, right? because it allows them to do the same functionality but it just is it is integrated within uh a mini app and it allow them to attract new people new users. Okay.

And now I'm going to say a few points why I think mini apps are the new playground and why you as a dev you know should really maybe experiment a bit with mini apps in general. So first of all mini apps are permissionless. So anyone can launch a mini app. don't need any permission by anybody. Uh yeah, you can launch anybody can launch one wallet is already there.

This is very important. You know, people have money, you know, in their crypto wallets in their forecaster wallets. So, this barrier, you know, of transferring fund to your app or connecting the wallet, this is nowhere to be seen. You know, people have money there. They open your mini app and they just can do uh on transactions on there.

There's easy onboarding. Like I said, like with the super apps that I mentioned at the beginning, you know, the apps are already on people's phone. I have my Farcaster app on my phone. You know, it's super simple. If you launch a mini app, okay, I will probably see it because it's going to be trending new app and I'm just going to try it out.

I you don't need to convince me to or maybe go through this Apple store or, you know, app store kind of channels to to get this apps on on people's phone. It's easy to go viral. This is something that is maybe specific to Farcaster, but it's so easy. You know, you can easily introduce, I don't know, share a leaderboard or share a score feature within your mini app. And this is how you can get uh your app more viral.

It's going to be attracting more and more users. So, yeah, another great example why you should build a mini app on Farcaster. And also inapp notifications, you know, to keep the engagement going, you know, inapp notifications are very important and farer is doing very well with them. And in my opinion and also opinion of many others, you know, I think it's the best way to get first 10,000 users uh in as a crypto project is through a mini app at the moment. So I would really like to challenge and main message of this presentation is you know if you're thinking about building something an app you know look at mini apps because I think it's very very exciting.

Now I'm going to talk a little bit about arbitum and where arbitum fits within uh within this picture. So two months ago uh there was a strong initiative coming from arbitum that we want to support builders who are building mini apps on forecaster and they're building it on far on arbitrum. So we started off with building a small group of people. So it's like a group DM currently around 50 people and we are supporting each other building mini apps on arbitr. So even maybe just doing some beta testing or maybe just you know uh getting the first version out you will have first 50 people who going to try out your app and then they're going to do some kind of transaction or whatever on there.

Second thing is we offer a weekly small every week we give out small grants for builders. So $2500 US is given to five different mini apps every week who build something on arbitum. I know it's not a lot but it's a small initiative or small push to maybe an experiment with building a mini app on arbiture and like I said the play test for builders you know I was fortunate enough that this was casted a few few days ago by uh Sajan so he launched a mini app uh and he did a little you know analytic shows some results what he achieved in just 20 days of launching uh this mini app so like I said best way to get thousand users He got 924 unique users. Probably a day later he reached the number thousand. The users made around 6,000 transactions on arbitum.

So another example how easy it is to yeah make people and do the on onchain transactions and 680 people added the app. So this means by adding the app they will pro get notifi not notified whenever you do uh some kind of update to the app or whatever when you introduce something new. So to keep engagement uh and keep engaging with the users right so another great example you know why as a small for he's a small he's a one time one person right an example of a super of a mini app that gained very very good success in just 20 days okay and the last part of my presentation is why you should build on arbitum this is more like a general presentation but miniap is just one way to go so before that uh we had Kristoff here from L2 beat so This is a screenshot from L2B. Arbitum is the layer 2. It's has the biggest total value secured at the moment around $20 million US and it's the most decentralized based on the risk meters that L2B is uh yeah measuring and to build on Arbitum.

I gave you five reasons why you should build on Arbitum. First of all, like I said, the chain is very secure. It has a lot of liquidity already and the overall reputation of Arbitum is very very good. the ecosystem. If you're going to launch your app on arbitum, you will join you will be joined uh by these great names that already are there.

For example, in terms of apps, GMX, Camelot, also games. Web3 games are very we passionate about web three games at Arbitum. Uh then we have orbit chains. These are chains built on top of arbitrum. Uh recently Robin Hood announced that they're going to build their own orbit chain, but also many others like Converge.

It's a Trefy app. uh chess fight chain, super position, XI and R chain are gaming app gaming chains. So examples of great projects who are already building on arbitum. And last but not least, Wall Street is building on arbitrum. You know, Black Rockck, Franklin Templeton, Wisdom Tree, they all are building on Arbitum and are part of the ecosystem already.

The third thing is the tools. So today you already had a workshop about Stylus. So stylus is a great tool in my opinion for devs who are building different kind of things. It allows you to code in different languages and still u this this language is applied to the to arbitum and not only that the build to build on arbitum is very well documented. You have a lot of great documentation a lot of great tutorials out there that will help you make you know the first steps into this ecosystem.

The fourth thing is the grants. So we are giving out different out different different types of grants. If you're building an arbitum uh arbitum dao at the moment has milestone based grants available where you can get $25 to $50,000 to build your app. So it's like a milestone that you have to reach and then you get payment out of that. Uh we also have specialized grants.

So like I said before like mini apps small grants you know to just to kick things off. Um but you can also always approach the DA with a proposal to build something for the DAO or for the arbitum. We will be happy to hear your ideas. Uh and the last I would like to touch venture funding. So arbitum at the moment has a huge fund uh arbitr gaming ventures.

It's called arbitran gaming ventures where we are investing in games. So in gaming studio not only web 3 but also web 2. So we are very very passionate about gaming but also arbitum foundation and offchain labs which are companies behind arbitum. uh we they are participating in different rounds of investing into startups into companies uh or even buying out some of the some of those companies. So this would be the reason you know why when you're thinking about which chain you want to launch on this is what this is my reasons why you should build on arbitra and to conclude my presentation here I would start off back where I started right when I was in Kazakhstan where I was spending some time with Das and meeting and learning about his you know tech stuff.

So as a dev you have to observe right. I think being in a room or being behind a computer is not enough to really see where are the opportunities for you to build stuff in right mini apps I mentioned few examples but mini apps could be a great way to on board you know new people non-crypto people and give them the reason to become and be on chain right this the topic of this stage is mass adoption right can mini apps be that in my opinion and hopefully with this presentation I gave you some some reasons why uh you think maybe this this as well. Also, experimentation. Maybe mini apps will not be the way to go, right? You can be skeptic.

You have to be skeptic, but you have to experiment and try out. This is the the key to it. You have to launch a mini app even though maybe you're not that sure that your app or idea would be a great fit for it. Try it out. See, users will tell you quite quickly.

And the last thing, build on arbitrum. It's a great not only a great chain to build on, but also a lot of great people. some of this some of our team members are already also here at this event. So yeah, let us come to us, talk with us. We're happy to we're happy to support you on your arbitrum journey.

Before I conclude, I have a last thing uh to mention. So this is a side event that I'm organizing tomorrow morning. I know, but it's at 8:00 a.m. So I think it should be good.

So at the moment more than 130 people applied for my run, right? So even I am a little bit skeptical, you know, who will how many people will show up. Maybe we can open a prediction market and see. But if you're a runner or if you want to get some fresh air tomorrow morning, you're all welcome to join us. We're going to meet at the mermaid statue and we're going to run by the Vista River.

It should be very fun event uh and awesome pe awesome group of people. All right, these are my contacts, my forecaster, Telegram, Twitter. Feel free to message me and I'll also be around today and tomorrow during the event. Thank you very much for your attention.

Any questions?

How many

how many of you are on forecaster? Show up hands.

All right. All right. Good amount of people. And are you using mini apps? Yeah.

Who's using mini app on caster or use the mini app? All right. Five six people. So, a lot of room more room uh for improvement. Yeah.

Okay. Um if there's no no more questions then Oh, wait. There's one. Okay. Hold up.

Uh if you want to launch like not one but uh 10 or 15 apps, can the grant or this application be like group grant or something like that or I need always to individually separate every topic because many games are sometimes very easy to implement. So they need like 7,000 or eight.

Yeah. So

it would be better to group them even or mark them as some let's say cluttering of the games or bunch of the games and then apply for the uh ground or separate every topic because it's quite paperwork in our premium applications.

Yeah. Yeah. Maybe you were you I heard that you had experience with applying for a grant for the for the milestone based grant I imagine right? Uh but yes, yeah, but if you're referring to the forecaster mini apps, you know, there are no rules. This is very, you know, onetoone.

It's just like I said, 50 people, 50 builders currently communicating there. And Hunter, who is a marketing lead at Offchain Labs, who is he's uh leading the this initiative of $2,500 US weekly grants, right? Um I would say yeah, go for it. But, you know, still grant hunting is not something that we support. But if you want to build multiple games and we're going to if we're going to see results, of course, why not?

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't get uh multiple grants for your different mini apps. Yeah.

Okay. Any more questions?

I can have one.

Okay. Let's go. Hold up. Hold up. Hold up.

Wait for the microphone. Y

uh do we have an active community in Rosw Poland basically in Warso or any other cities?

Sorry.

Do we have an active community in Poland for arbitrum?

For arbitrum I don't there are people from Poland like Kristoff is also very active in the DAO itself right but he's representative of L2B. Uh so there are individuals but uh in terms of ambassadors because this is something that arbitum also has. It has an ambassador program that anyone can join. Um in my opinion I'm not sure. Don't quote me on that but I don't think we have one.

Yeah. In in Warso or in Poland. Yeah.

Okay. Thank you.

Okay. I guess that's it. Thank you, Techros.

All right. Thank you very much.
