EVM x Sui I Alvaro Lillo

ETHGlobalAug 9, 2026

In this workshop at ETHGlobal New York 2026, Alvaro Lillo, a solutions engineer on Sui's builder growth team, walks hackers through the Sui prizes and, most importantly, how to integrate Walrus, Sui's decentralized storage solution, with EVM dApps. Alongside his colleague Ralph at the booth, he shares a collection of resources, starting with example integrations showing how to swap a typical IPFS or Filecoin setup for Walrus in common use cases. He highlights a newly released product, Walrus Memory, built on top of Walrus for storing encrypted memories from AI agents, which he suggests is useful for anyone doing agent work. He also points to a Sui plugin that helps implement anything on the Sui stack by injecting the docs (noting it is token-expensive, so use it deliberately) and integrating a Move language server, which is handy since that is not built into Claude Code, the tool he hopes most hackers will use this weekend. Alvaro explains how the prizes are structured around the hackathon's two main tracks. For the existing project track, the focus is on projects swapping their decentralized storage integration for Walrus, judged primarily on product-market fit rather than novel uses of Move, since the goal is products with existing traction and users that are ready to go to market. A portion of the pool is reserved for the new project track, where builders can create anything entirely on Sui using Move or integrating Walrus or another part of the stack. He points to links, faucets for testnet tokens, and QR codes at the booth. In an extended Q&A, he clarifies that Walrus is programmable decentralized storage infrastructure (not a single product), that the decentralized cloud people remember is just a product built on top of it (like Walrus Harbor), that Walrus is far faster than IPFS and Arweave on both uploads and retrievals, and that it can store anything, not just web3 data. He explains Walrus is built using Sui, relying on Sui's smart contracts to coordinate storage, and that Sui's object-oriented model provides built-in security around digital assets, making access control and complex data structures much easier to manage than in Solidity, before sending everyone off to build. 00:00 Introduction 00:12 Welcome to the Sui Workshop 00:45 Meet Alvaro and Ralph at the Booth 01:14 A Collection of Resources to Check 01:14 Integrating Walrus With EVM dApps 01:46 Introducing Walrus Memory for Agents 02:20 The Sui Plugin and Move Language Server 02:49 Why It Helps Claude Code Users 03:20 How the Prizes Are Structured 03:46 The Existing Project Track and Product-Market Fit 04:13 The New Project Track on Sui 04:46 Links, Faucets, and Testnet Tokens 05:14 Q&A: What Excites You the Most 06:07 Q&A: How to Think About Walrus Today 06:59 Walrus as Programmable Storage Infrastructure 07:16 Q&A: Building Without Walrus 07:40 Q&A: Help With Move Coding 08:06 Q&A: Walrus vs IPFS and Arweave 08:31 Q&A: Faster Uploads and Retrievals 08:52 Q&A: Is Walrus Only for Web3 09:07 Q&A: How Walrus Uses Sui 09:29 Q&A: Sui's Object-Oriented Model 10:08 Why Access Control Is Easier Than Solidity 10:31 Closing _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ *ETHGlobal New York 2026* This workshop is specifically for ETHGlobal New York 2026, a 3-day hackathon held June 12-14 at the Metropolitan Pavilion, bringing together the most skilled web3 developers, designers and product builders from all around the globe for a weekend-long adventure to advance the Ethereum ecosystem! Write your first Daml Contract I Jatin Pandya

ETHGlobalJun 9, 2026

In this workshop, Jatin Pandya walks through writing a first DAML smart contract on the Canton network and building, testing, and inspecting it using DPM, the DAML package manager. He starts by pointing developers to docs.canton.network where they can find tutorials including Module 2, which compares Canton to Ethereum for hackathon builders coming from a Solidity background. Jatin explains that DPM is a CLI tool covering the full lifecycle of DAML development, from scaffolding new projects to building, testing, and interacting with smart contracts. Jatin live codes an invoice smart contract featuring two parties (seller and buyer), an amount, a paid status, and a description. He explains DAML's core concepts: templates instead of smart contracts, choices instead of functions, and the proof of stakeholders model using signatories (who must sign actions) and observers (who can see state changes). The contract includes ensure clauses to validate positive amounts, a pay choice that returns a receipt, and a dispute choice with a required reason. He runs dpm build to compile the DAML code into a DAR file ready for ledger deployment, dpm test to execute test scripts achieving 100% pass rate, and dpm damlc inspect-dar to retrieve the package hex string used as the contract's identity on the Canton ledger. 00:00 Introduction 00:20 Where to Find Canton Documentation 01:19 What Is DPM (DAML Package Manager) 02:00 Installing DPM and Checking Versions 03:43 Exploring DPM Commands 04:51 Listing Available DAML Templates 06:01 Creating a New DAML Project from Scratch 07:23 Setting Up the Invoice DAML File 07:58 DAML VS Code Extensions Overview 08:53 Writing the Module and Importing DAML Script 09:50 Defining a Template with Parameters 11:14 Understanding Parties as Canton Addresses 12:27 Signatories vs Observers: Proof of Stakeholders 14:09 Using Ensure to Validate Amount 15:23 Choices: The DAML Version of Functions 16:18 Writing the Pay Choice with Controller 19:47 Adding a Dispute Choice with Reason 22:07 Completed Smart Contract Walkthrough 23:18 Writing Test Scripts with Alice and Bob 24:44 Running DPM Build to Generate the DAR File 26:01 Running DPM Test for Coverage Summary 27:13 Using DPM DAMLC to Inspect DAR Files 28:04 Extracting Package Hex String for Ledger Identity 29:44 Closing Remarks _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ✅ *Follow ETHGlobal* X: https://x.com/ETHGlobal Website: https://ethglobal.com YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/ETHGlobal _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _Are you interested in Ethereum development and entrepreneurship?_ 👉 Sign up for the next ETHGlobal event: https://ethglobal.com/events 🎁 Get exclusive access and perks with ETHGlobal Plus! https://ethglobal.com/plus 📣 Want us to throw an event in your city? Build CRE workflows using Chainlink Privacy Capabilities I Andrej Rakic, Frank Kong

ETHGlobalMay 9, 2026

In this workshop, Andrej Rakic and Frank Kong, developer relation engineers from Chainlink Labs, introduce the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) and Chainlink's privacy capabilities. Andrej explains CRE as an orchestration layer that connects the real world with smart contracts on any chain through off-chain workflows written in TypeScript or Go, compiled to WebAssembly and run across Chainlink's decentralized oracle network. He covers the three core concepts: workflows, triggers, and capabilities. Frank then walks through Chainlink's two privacy features available for the hackathon. The first is Confidential HTTP requests, which use enclaves to securely store and decrypt secrets like API keys so they remain hidden from node operators. The second is Compliant Private Token Transfer, which allows users to transfer ERC20 tokens through a vault using shielded addresses, with an Access Control Engine (ACE) for setting compliance rules on transfers. The session also covers hackathon bounties and Chainlink's AI agent skills for faster development. 00:00 Introduction 00:47 Speaker Introductions 01:23 Hackathon Bounties Overview 03:34 Chainlink Agent Skills and MCP Server 05:41 What Is Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE) 06:35 CRE Core Concepts: Workflows 07:57 Hello World Workflow Example 08:20 CRE Core Concepts: Triggers 09:01 CRE Core Concepts: Capabilities 09:27 Chainlink Privacy Features Overview 10:31 Confidential HTTP Requests and Enclaves 11:57 Compliant Private Token Transfer 12:39 Access Control Engine (ACE) 13:49 Q&A _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ *ETHGlobal Cannes 2026* This workshop is specifically for ETHGlobal Cannes 2026, a 3-day hackathon held April 3-5 at the Palace of Festivals and Congresses of Cannes, bringing together the most skilled web3 developers, designers and product builders from all around the globe for a weekend-long adventure to advance the Ethereum ecosystem! Scaling Smart Contract Security with AI I Shashank

ETHGlobalNov 9, 2025

Shashank, founder of SolidityScan, explains how AI and automation are transforming smart contract security. With over 14 years in cybersecurity (credited with finding bugs in Apple, Google, and Facebook), he highlights the staggering scale of Web3 hacks—over $5B in 2024, with 55% caused by contract vulnerabilities—and argues that manual audits alone can’t scale. He demonstrates how AI-powered automation reduces false positives and identifies nuanced access-control issues. Using the 2022 ShadowFi token hack as a case study, Shashank shows how traditional rule-based scanners struggle with logic-based bugs, while AI understands contextual security patterns. He details how SolidityScan’s multi-agent AI model, trained on 100K+ audit reports, mimics an “AI auditor” in developers’ CI/CD pipelines—reducing false positives by 82% and enabling real-time vulnerability detection before deployment. 00:02 Introduction & context: AI + blockchain security 00:27 Shashank’s background in cybersecurity (Apple, Google, Facebook) 00:59 Web3 security challenges: hacks & financial losses 01:28 Birth of SolidityScan: AI-powered contract analysis 02:00 Why automation is needed: billions lost, manual audits can’t scale 02:45 CI/CD security comparison to Web2 03:09 Rule-based scanning limitations → need for AI 03:27 Case study: ShadowFi token hack (Sept 2022) 04:10 Transaction analysis: token burn exploit explained 05:21 Access control vulnerabilities as #1 cause 05:44 How missing modifiers caused the exploit 06:08 Why rule-based systems fail to catch custom RBAC patterns 06:59 Example: false positives in static scanning 07:32 Using AI to understand code context & access logic 08:05 Results: 82% reduction in false positives 08:57 Multi-agent AI: master/slave setup & specialized agents 09:30 Dataset: 100K+ audit reports, 1M+ vulnerabilities 10:01 How the AI auditor works in developer pipelines 10:25 Audience Q&A: context limits, hallucinations, AI-guided algorithms 11:50 Future plans: formal verification & AI-generated fuzzing tests 12:10 Static analysis today, dynamic verification next 12:43 Closing remarks _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 🇮🇳 *Pragma New Delhi* Pragma New Delhi 2025 was held on September 25th at the JW Marriott Hotel in Aerocity New Delhi and was an in-person summit for builders and leaders in the web3 ecosystem. Tokenizing the Data Economy with Lighthouse I Nandit Mehra

ETHGlobalNov 9, 2025

Nandit Mehra, founder of Lighthouse, presents on tokenizing the data economy at Pragma. Lighthouse offers permanent, decentralized storage using IPFS and Filecoin, addressing high storage costs, lack of security, and SDK fragmentation. Their platform features an endowment pool for perpetual storage, BLS threshold cryptography for encryption and access control, and a unified SDK. Lighthouse supports onchain logic for data access, enabling NFT and token-gated applications. Notable integrations include Eternal AI, Ocean Protocol, and NFT.Storage. To address AI’s growing data hunger, Lighthouse launched 1MB.io, a platform to store, encrypt, tokenize, and monetize data, leveraging ZKTLS for real-world data verification. 1MB.io enables developers to mint, trade, and monetize data coins, supporting privacy-preserving data sharing and new data marketplaces. The talk highlights the potential for data monetization, deep integration with DePIN, and regulatory support for data portability (GDPR). Create Data Coin and Agent with Lighthouse I Aakash Taneja

ETHGlobalNov 9, 2025

Aakash Taneja from Lighthouse demonstrates how to create a complete data-to-token pipeline using Lighthouse and 1membb.io. He explains how Lighthouse enables permanent, decentralized storage on Filecoin with built-in encryption and on-chain access control, so developers can keep data private while still allowing programmable access from their apps. The walkthrough covers logging in via MetaMask, uploading both public and encrypted files, and using API keys with the JavaScript and Python SDKs to interact with Lighthouse programmatically. Aakash then introduces Data Coins — tokens that represent access rights to valuable private datasets — and shows how to create one using 1membb.io, complete with metadata, images, vesting, and locked asset conditions. He finishes by showcasing a sample app: POP Rewards (Proof of Purchase), which verifies Amazon order history via Reclaim, uploads encrypted proofs to Lighthouse, and mints reward tokens (POP) for users. This flow demonstrates how developers can let users earn tokens from verified private data—a powerful hackathon-ready concept for Web3 data monetization. 00:10 Introduction to Lighthouse & session overview 00:28 What is Lighthouse (Filecoin-based storage with encryption & access control) 00:53 Uploading public and encrypted files 01:18 Logging in via MetaMask and uploading example image 01:41 Encrypted file upload flow and decryption rights 02:05 Creating API keys for SDK integration 02:32 Using the SDK: upload, uploadText, uploadEncrypted 03:09 Encryption features: share file, revoke, set token conditions 03:30 Introducing Data Coins — tokenized access to data 03:48 Creating a Data Coin on 1membb.io (POP Rewards example) 04:27 Configuring metadata, chain, vesting, and locked assets 05:17 Using programmatic scripts to create Data Coins 05:34 Rider bounty challenge: build projects rewarding private data 06:01 Demo app: POP Rewards (Proof of Purchase for Amazon orders) 06:22 Verifying proofs with Reclaim and uploading to Lighthouse 06:47 Minting POP tokens for verified users 07:10 Final summary — monetizing private data with Lighthouse _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 💻 ETHOnline 2025 This workshop is specifically for ETHOnline 2025, a 21-day hackathon held October 10 - 31, 2025, bringing together the most skilled web3 developers, designers and product builders from all around the globe for a weekend-long adventure to advance the Ethereum ecosystem! _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ✅ Follow Lighthouse X: https://x.com/LighthouseWeb3 ✅ Follow ETHGlobal X: https://x.com/ETHGlobal Warpcast: https://warpcast.com/ethglobal Website: https://ethglobal.com YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/ETHGlobal _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _Are you interested in Ethereum development and entrepreneurship?_ 👉 Sign up for the next ETHGlobal event: https://ethglobal.com/events 🎁 Get exclusive access and perks with ETHGlobal Plus! https://ethglobal.com/plus 📣 Want us to throw an event in your city? Create Data Coin and Agent with Lighthouse I Nandit Mehra

ETHGlobalNov 9, 2025

Nandit (with Akash) introduces Lighthouse—a developer platform for permanent, verifiable, and access-controlled storage—and their new product 1mb.io, which lets you launch “data coins” and data agents to reward users (or A.I. agents) for contributing valuable datasets. Lighthouse tackles three pain points: long-term data is expensive/hard to verify, access control on decentralized storage is weak, and the tooling is fragmented. Their solution combines (1) permanent storage funded by an on-chain endowment that pays Filecoin miners so you “pay once, store forever,” (2) threshold-crypto access control where each file has its own key, sharded across 5 nodes with 3-of-5 recovery, and (3) a unified SDK (JS & Python) plus web app/CLI. Files are encrypted client-side before upload, and decryption can be token-gated by on-chain logic (NFT ownership, token balances, timelocks, or pay-to-unlock). Current users include Eternal AI (open-source model hosting), Ocean (data marketplace), large-scale NFT storage, and Webhash (ENS sites served from Lighthouse). On top of this, 1mb.io turns data into an asset. Creators deploy a data coin (Sepolia testnet or mainnets like Base/Polygon/VeChain/World Chain), encrypt & host datasets on Lighthouse, set contribution/reward rules, and optionally trade the coin via a built-in Uniswap integration. Examples: a Ride-Sharing DAO paying Uber users who privately prove ride histories via ZK-TLS (Reclaim/Opacity); Pantry Points paying Zomato users for order data; and Miles, an AI augmentation engine where contributors upload real images/maps, pick conditions (e.g., “heavy rain”), and receive coins while an agent generates synthetic data to enlarge the dataset. The live workshop showed: uploading (plain/encrypted), API key creation, SDK calls for upload, uploadEncrypted, share/revoke access, and token-gating checks; then the data-coin creation flow (naming, chain, vesting, lock asset like USDC). Hackathon guidance: just storing on Lighthouse is good, but to be prize-competitive you should launch a data coin on 1mb.io, encrypt/token-gate access, and use the coin in your protocol’s flows (payments, contributor rewards, gated dashboards). Lighthouse doesn’t supply AI models (bring your own); data verification is up to builders (e.g., ZK proofs), and the market will reward higher-quality coins/datasets. SDKs are framework-agnostic, so you can integrate with OpenAI/agents/MCP, etc. 00:10 What Lighthouse solves (permanent storage, secure access, unified SDK) 02:27 How permanent storage works (on-chain endowment → Filecoin miners) 02:54 Threshold-crypto access control (per-file keys, 3-of-5 shards) 04:36 Token-gated decryption via on-chain logic (NFTs, tokens, timelocks, paywalls) 05:35 Who’s using it (Eternal AI, Ocean, NFT storage, Webhash) 06:38 Why 1mb.io (monetize private/siloed data; reward users/agents) 08:10 Data-coin flow (deploy coin, encrypt/upload, reward contributors, DEX trading) 09:06 Stack view (Lighthouse base + 1mb layer + dataset marketplaces) 10:47 Example verticals (chat history, loyalty, maps; synthetic data generation) 15:03 Live: upload (plain/encrypted), API key, SDK usage 17:31 Networks supported & token-gating docs 17:57 Live: create a data coin (chain, vesting, lock asset) 20:31 Live app: Miles synthetic data agent (rewards per image) 21:52 Live app: Pantry Points (ZK-TLS + Zomato orders → rewards) 23:22 Q&A: how to qualify for bounties (launch a data coin, integrate gating/payments) 27:53 AI model sourcing (BYO), data verification (ZK proofs), framework compatibility _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 💻 ETHOnline 2025 This workshop is specifically for ETHOnline 2025, a 21-day hackathon held October 10 - 31, 2025, bringing together the most skilled web3 developers, designers and product builders from all around the globe for a weekend-long adventure to advance the Ethereum ecosystem! _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ✅ Follow Lighthouse X: https://x.com/LighthouseWeb3 ✅ Follow ETHGlobal X: https://x.com/ETHGlobal Warpcast: https://warpcast.com/ethglobal Website: https://ethglobal.com YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/ETHGlobal _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _Are you interested in Ethereum development and entrepreneurship?_ 👉 Sign up for the next ETHGlobal event: https://ethglobal.com/events 🎁 Get exclusive access and perks with ETHGlobal Plus! https://ethglobal.com/plus 📣 Want us to throw an event in your city? Access control over Swarm content || András Arányi

SwarmJun 20, 2024

Within decentralized public data storage systems like Swarm, where data resides across multiple nodes, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability becomes paramount. The Access Control Trie (ACT) is a data structure that stores access control information for Swarm nodes. It is used to determine whether a node has permission to access a particular resource. The video discusses the application of Web 3 technology to ensure user control over data privacy and access. The speaker explains how their implemented feature, access control trie (ACT), within the Swarm platform allows content publishers to grant or revoke access to specific wallets, ensuring that only authorized users can view or decrypt content. This system aims to address common Web 2 issues such as centralization, data mishandling, security breaches, and censorship. The ACT feature is detailed in terms of its technical implementation within Swarm and its potential use cases, including gated community content, private group chats, confidential data sharing, and monetization opportunities for content creators in Web 3. A live demo showcases how a publisher can grant access to a member wallet so they can view JSON data, potentially representing NFT metadata. The talk also touches on a partnership with Galaxy XYZ, a platform creating Web 3 communities that will use Swarm for self-serving control over data. Questions from the audience cover technical aspects of ACTs, such as EVM compatibility and visibility of granted permissions. The response emphasizes the security design where access information does not leak outside intended parties. The summary is for users interested in decentralized storage solutions, privacy control in Web 3 applications, and the technical mechanisms enabling secure data sharing within blockchain ecosystems.
